history
The Cave des vignerons de Tavel is in the purest Provençal style. It was built in 1937 when Tavel wines were labelled AOC. It is to date the only winery to be opened by a President of the Republic – Albert Lebrun in 1938. The Cave de Tavel produces half of the Tavel AOC wines, as well as Lirac, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages and Côtes-du-Rhône and stretches over 680 Ha..There are 140 producers, all involved in the day-to-day life of the winery and have their say in the investment decisions for making wines which frequently win medals and are regularly mentioned in wine guide.
Vineyard
Tavel surrounding area, near the villages of Rochefort-du-Gard and Pujaut. This wine "Domaine des Amariniers" is issued from clay and limestones. Vines : 40 years old - Yield :40Hl/Ha.
Winemaking
Vinification is carried out using carbonic maceration at low temperature for 5 days: the whole, undestemmed bunches are vatted intact. This technique allows fermentation to take place within the berries themselves, revealing intense aromas of fresh fruit and a supple, rich palate. Although the carbonic maceration technique is usually reserved for reds, we've adapted it here to create a rosé that's deep in color yet light and fruity on the palate. A Tavel that combines visual intensity with immediate pleasure.
Tasting notes
The wine shows a deep, intense raspberry color, with a nose of red fruits, sweet spices and floral notes, while the palate is full, fresh and fruity.
Food pairing
Ideally, it pairs well with grilled meats, tapas, Mediterranean cuisine, or lightly spiced dishes. Perfect for summer meals and can also be used as a substitute for red wines.
