history
A family estate located in Verdigny, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation, Domaine Daniel Reverdy & Fils cultivates 9.3 hectares of vines with passion and respect for tradition. Passed down through generations, the domain combines ancestral know-how and sustainable vineyard management to craft wines that express the purity of the terroir. The Clos de Chaudenay parcel, situated just behind the cellar, embodies this philosophy through its unique clay-limestone soil (Terres Blanches).
Vineyard
35% of this cuvée comes from grass-covered vines grown on clay-limestone soils (Terres Blanches). The average age of the vines is 30 years, planted at a density of 6,500 vines per hectare. The estate practices sustainable viticulture to preserve soil life and express the authenticity of its terroir.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested mechanically, then fermented at low temperatures (14–17°C) to preserve the aromatic freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc. The wine undergoes traditional vinification with maturation on total lees for 6 months in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a wine of finesse and complexity. Alcohol: 12.6% vol Acidity: 4.70 g/L (H₂SO₄) Residual sugar: 0.30 g/L Yield: 60 hl/ha
