The Dubard Family for more than 30 years, has been the most famous producer of refreshing and reasonably priced wines in South-West France. The family members offer differing personalities of graduate oenologists, winemakers, and viticulturists who together make up a dynamic and passionate team that has been renowned in the Bergerac wine region for decades. Being receptive to their terroir, combining common sense and long experience with ceaseless wine-making and viticulture: are the founding principles on which the family has relied in their exceptional cuvées. They are also ongoing on the environmental label "HVE" (High Environmental Value).
Vineyard
The 83 hectares of the estate, located on the hillsides overlooking the right bank of the Dordogne River, include 37 hectares of white grape varieties, with an average age of 25 years.
These vines, planted at high density (5,000 vines/ha) on claylimestone soils, are managed in a traditional way: simple Guyot pruning and natural grass cover between the rows.
The yield is limited to 60 hL/ha. A rigorous monitoring of the vineyard's health and the practice of sustainable management optimize the maturity and aromatic potential of the grapes in each
plot.
Winemaking
Upon their arrival at the winery, the Semillon and Viognier grapes are carefully destemmed and then gently pressed to preserve the purity of the fruit. Cold settling is used to select clear and aromatic juices.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a low temperature (16°C). It is intentionally stopped to retain a natural residual sugar, ensuring a subtle balance between sweetness and freshness.
A maturation on fine lees then refines the texture, adds roundness, and provides a full mouthfeel.
Tasting notes
The Gouyats Moelleux has a bright pale gold color. The nose is expressive and charming, balanced between the gourmand aromas of the Viognier (apricot, yellow fruits and white flowers) and the softness and honey signature of the Semillon. On the palate, this a
smooth wine lifted by a well-balanced freshness. The finish is suave and harmonious, revealing notes of ripe fruits with a delicate and lingering floral touch.
Food pairing
Ideal as an aperitif, this wine will charm many gourmands and pairs perfectly with foie grad, blue cheeses, sweet-and-salty dishes and fruits desserts. To serve chilled (between 8 to 10°C) to fully express its aromatic richness and freshness.
