Cave des Producteurs de Vouvray - Vouvray
Rosé,Vouvray
Cabernet Franc and Gamay
history
The Cave des Producteurs de Vouvray was created in 1953, at the initiative of a small group of wine growers. The initial project was to pool their resources and create a production tool able to make wines in sufficient volume to penetrate new markets, at the same time preserving a high level of quality which was essential to the commercial development of Vouvray wines, and more particularly the sparkling wines. Sixty years later, the adventure continues with 30 wine growers, who work together 400 ha of vineyards, distributed over the whole Vouvray Appellation area.
Vineyard
The vines are cultivated on differentiated terroirs: the fruitiness of the Gamay grape variety, exacerbated by a sandy terroir, associated with the character and pretty structure of the Cabernet Franc grape variety, developed on a gravel pit terroir.
Winemaking
Gentle pressing and fermentation at a cool temperature (18°C) allowing a good preservation of the aromas. Subtle blending of the cuvées highlighting a beautiful aromatic complexity. Second fermentation in the bottle according to the Traditional Method.
Tasting notes
Lively attack, with beautiful aromatic intensity. Fresh and balanced on the palate. Nice persistence with notes of fresh fruit.
Food pairing
To be enjoyed as an aperitif (tuna-tomato quiche) or with desserts (raspberry tiramisu, red fruit salad).
