80% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Counoise, 5% Clairette Rose
history
Grandfather Francis Usseglio came from Italy in 1931 where he settled in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He produced his first wine in 1949. In 1963, Raymond, the son and Danielle, his wife took over and created the Domaine Usseglio Raymond. It is essential for Stéphane Usseglio Estate to preserve and respect as much as possible the life and balance of the terroirs and their vines.
Vineyard
This cuvée results from a selection of plots located primarily in the north and the northeast of the Château-neuf-du-Pape appellation. The diversity of soils : sand, rolled pebbles and safres, brings balance, freshness and complexity to the final blend.
Winemaking
Harvested at optimal phenolic maturity, the fruit was handled woth care to preserve its natural character. Traditional winemaking methods were used, including partial whole-cluser fermentation to enhance structured and aromatic depth. This wine was aged for 50% in ovoide concrete tanks and 50% in TAVA terracotta amphorae. This dual approach allows the wine to breathe and evolve while respecting the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir
Tasting notes
Nose : Deep and expressive with aromas of ripe black fruit, baking spices, garrigue and subtle smoky undertones. Palate : Generous and structured, with firm but refined tannins. The richness of the vintage is beautifully and balanced by underlying freshness. The finish is long, vibrant and slightly saline.
Food pairing
Pair this powerful and structured vintage with rich, savory dishes like slow-roasted lamb, wild game stews, or a grilled ribeye enhanced with Mediterranean herbs. It also beautifully complements earthy mushroom dishes and mature, flavorful cheeses.

NV95 James Suckling
Deep and earthy, with intense baking spice aromas, this has a massive tannin structure, yet there is nothing exaggerated about the wine. It needs some time for the richness and structure to completely integrate, but the finish is already bold yet fine-grained. Excellent aging potential A cuvee of 80% grenache plus syrah, mourvedre and counoise. From organically grown grapes. Matured in concrete tanks and amphorae. Drinkable now, but best from 2026
