history
Founded in 1964 in Reims by an alliance of visionary winegrowers, Champagne Jacquart was born from a desire to control the destiny of their harvest and craft exceptional wines. Headquartered at the historic Hôtel de Brimont, the House draws from a mosaic of terroirs across Champagne’s finest crus. Its contemporary style, driven by a high proportion of Chardonnay, is defined by freshness, precision, and extended cellar aging. Today, Jacquart embodies a collective savoir-faire dedicated to high gastronomy and modern champagne expression.
Vineyard
Sourced entirely from the prestigious Grand Cru terroir of Aÿ in the Grande Vallée de la Marne, this 100% Pinot Noir thrives on steep, south-facing slopes. Sheltered from cold northern winds, the vines enjoy generous sun exposure that fosters optimal phenolic ripeness and aromatic depth. Rooted in deep Campanian chalk layered with limestone-rich soils, this historic terroir imparts commanding structural power, vinous generosity, and distinct mineral precision.
Winemaking
- Alcoholic fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks
- Malolactic fermentation took place
- Tirage as lightly sparkling wine to produce very delicate effervescence
- Maturation : 5 years minimum
Tasting notes
The palate is precise and reminiscent of a basket of fruit towards the end of summer, where the fruit is ripe but not overwhemingly so (apricots, Mirabelle plums, fresh quince, Williams pears) and lightly toasted brioche bread and slivered almonds offer delicious flavours. The palate is clean yet fleshy, it is chewy and powerful but nicely plumb and the finish is long and flavourful.
